MG High School Wrestling

Student enrolled in Maple Grove Senior High School or Maple Grove Junior High School in grades 8 - 12 are encouraged to register.

The Wrestling season starts the week before Thanksgiving and runs through the end of February. Actual dates will be published in the team calendar.

Practices are generally held in the Maple Grove Senior High School wrestling room.

Home meets are held in the gymnasiums at Maple Grove Senior High School.

Away meets are held at host schools throughout the metro area.

Typical weekly practice schedule

• Monday - Friday 3 - 5:30 PM
• Saturday 9 - 11:30 AM
• Tuesdays 5:45 - 7 AM: Varsity only

How many games will they play? What days of the week?

Example: Teams will play 20-30 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.

The following equipment is provided by the school.

• Singlets
• Warmups for Meets
• Knee Pads
• Headgear

The following equipment is provided by the athlete.

• Wrestling Shoes
• Practice Clothes

Note: athletes may elect to provide their own knee pads and headgear but must wear the provided singlet and warmups for meets.

There are two overnight trips per year that athletes will be expected to contribute to. Students for whom this creates a hardship can contact the booster club president for assistance.
