Crimson Wrestlers, Managers, and Families-
Week Fourteen Recap:
There is no tournament quite like Individual Sections. It’s a meat grinder
physically, mentally, and emotionally. Our athletes have worked so hard this
season and for it all to come down to one day, one match, one moment – almost
seems like an injustice.
As an athlete I always had an easier time remembering the matches that I lost –
especially those that essentially slipped through your fingers when I believed I was
the better wrestler. For some reason the agony of a hard faught loss always
overshadowed the excitement of a big win.
It’s fair to say it’s the same way as a coach. Overall, we wrestled really well on
Saturday. Only three teams in our section had a section champion. We had two of
them. We had five guys finish in the top three and 11 of our 13 wrestlers placed.
The final breakdown was:
1 st – 2
3 rd – 3
4 th – 1
5 th – 2
6 th - 3
That said I’d love to wrestle about three of those matches again. Make it a best of
three situation and I think the results are different. Unfortunately, that’s not how it
works. One day, one match, one moment. We were ready and we Let It Fly.
Those few matches just didn’t go the way we wanted. It’s life – and what we do
now is react in the best way possible to the reality of the situation.
It’s time to get behind Connor and Ben and make sure they feel the Love. Winning
section titles is a great accomplishment that can’t be overstated but it’s safe to say
most of their goals are still in front of them.
I’ve been so impressed by so many Crimson wrestlers sticking out the season until
the completion of every Crimson Wrestlers season. We started this thing together
in November and we’ll finish it together in March!
Here are the details you’ll need to know for the week ahead:
