Crimson Wrestlers, Managers, and Families-
Week Twelve Recap:
We wrapped up our regular season schedule with a home dual under the light last Thursday. It
was a fun dual and our guys wrestled great. We picked up wins in 6 of the 12 matches wrestled
including wins from Alex True, Ethan Hong, Connor Peterson, Thomas Schlangen, Jayden
Waste, and Ben Schultz. As coaches we were very happy with the way we competed in every
match and we believe it provided some good momentum for our Varsity.
It’s hard to believe some of our wrestlers’ competitive seasons came to an end this weekend. For
these wrestlers, it’s been a season of growth and development and they have so much to be proud
of. I feel fortunate to have been able to witness the physical, mental, and emotional journey
these young athletes have been on – both on meet days and in some cases more prominently in
the practice room. Looking back on how far many of these wrestlers have come in a few months
is incredible!
Our girls wrapped up the first season of Crimson Girls wrestling in Bemidji at the girls section
tournament. Ayah, Russo, Kathrine, Brooklyn, and Ireland have all shown a commitment all
season long that I honestly didn’t expect coming into the season. I was told all five girls
competed really well and all five are looking forward to taking advantage of the offseason
opportunities. These girls are driven and exciting to think about what they can accomplish in the
years ahead. This was just the beginning for these five as well as for the Crimson girls wrestling
program that they started. Congrats on a great season ladies!!
The JV Conference tournament is one of my favorite tournaments of the season. It’s a great
opportunity for our younger and less experienced wrestlers to display the talents they worked so
hard to develop.
We wrestle in one of the biggest (and best) wrestling conferences throughout the state. This
tournament consistently includes Varsity caliber wrestlers at every weight. I felt this group
competed as well as they have all season with 10 wrestlers earning a top 8 finish and multiple
others looking good throughout the day.
Here are the Crimson JV-Conference place winners of the 2023-2024 season:
4 th place: Amir Bouzouma (139), Jaeden Hubbard (145), Benyam Reda (160), and Joseph
Natysin (215)
5 th place: Alex Fox (121)
7 th place: Owen Yamaya (95), Reese Redlinger (121),
8 th place: Gavin Thompson (107), Abdulaziz Alibrahim (114), Yegor Marchenko (172),

I enjoyed watching our guy’s battle. Each of them wrestled hard and we won a number of
exciting matches. This group is so young – each of our place-winners are Sophomores or
younger with eight of our ten place winners in ninth grade or younger. At this stage of their
development the wins and losses don’t matter nearly as much as the skills they’ve developed –
and I believe this group continues to improve every time they step on the mat. Very proud of
these wrestlers and already looking forward to what they can become in future seasons.
Presently, our focus turns to our 20 wrestlers who will represent our team at team sections this
week and our wrestlers who will represent Crimson wrestling at individual sections the following
week. In support of these wrestlers, we would like the whole team to continue to attend practice
through the end of each wrestler’s season. Being a great teammate is something hopefully all
our athletes aspire to and each wrestler plays a role in the success of the team and each
individual’s success. I look forward to seeing our wrestlers who are no longer competing display
their character, commitment to their brothers on the team, and an overall team first attitude in the
upcoming three weeks.
Here are the details you’ll need to know for the week ahead:

We will plan to dress 20 – which is the maximum number of wrestlers we are allowed. All
rostered wrestlers should make their weight and could all be called on to compete depending on
